The Day School has raised garden beds in which they are introduced to sustainable food sources. They learn the process of planting fruits and vegetables, tending to them, watching them grow, harvesting them, and eating them.
Students experience the whole process of gardening. They prepare the soil, plant the seeds, and water the plants. When the time is right, they harvest their plants. Harvesting is a great way for students to see the product of their hard work.
